"write me back"

Recently, I had the joy of finding an interesting hidden treasure where I work...

This is what I found...

Naturally, the first thing I did was dig up the website! What I found intrigued me!! Somehow he/she has found a way to reveal the artist in him/herself and others.

This is how it works...
This Artist handcrafts beautiful postcards through various mediums. (I believe them to be handcrafted! They appear to be.) Above the printed image on the front of the post card a question, quote, something to inspire is hand written. Mine read "... I can't wait to go shopping. I could use some fresh man-magnets..." Wait... is this something I have said in the past? I was taken back and surprised!! This sounds exactly like something I would say!

When you flip the card over you find only three words... "write me back" Such a simple and humble request. It pulled at my emotions. I felt this had been created and left specifically for me. The quote. The request. To make it even simpler the card has been addressed and postage placed.

"write me back"

Suddenly, my minds starts spinning through the spirals of emotion, people, places and creativity this inter-twines. This art follows his/her individual travels, holds handcrafted art in the physical postcards, and adds a touch of adventure through the secret placement in such public places.  Travel, Art and Adventure. Through this self expression he/she is also encouraging creativity and a sense of mystery in the finder. Inspiration is passed from one person to a second and they will likely never meet, speak, or even know each others name.

Indirectly Intimate

Now I face the ultimate question... do I keep the card for myself ... or add to the artform...
I do know I went shopping...

  1. I love this. I would have a hard time with the choice of keeping it or sending it. I think I would end of sending it, it seems like it's part of the artist's purpose. Plus, it might be interesting if they write you back. Who knows what could happen...
